About kladdi
Kladdi means notebook in Icelandic. It scratches a simple itch: in an increasingly browser-based world, we wanted somewhere to just jot things down (quick, no account, no install). It started as a scratchpad, but the browser it runs in is a real platform now, so rather than stop there we made use of what that platform offers.
So everything lives in your browser by default. When you want it to be more than a scratchpad, sync a workspace to real files on your disk, or share one to co-edit with someone in real time. Safe storage and collaboration, only if and when you need them.
Privacy is simple: everything you write stays in your browser, there are no accounts, and we don’t track you. kladdi sets no cookies, and the only analytics is anonymous visit counts. Sync and collaboration send data only when you turn them on.
